There is something special and alive about outdoor family photography shoots, particularly in the stunning coastal areas and parks in Melbourne, that are so suited to energetic kids and families. 📸🌳🌊

I do not focus heavily on posed imagery, but candid and raw images capturing the playful, in-betweens of family interactions and personalities.

During your shoot with Laura May Photography, I will ensure yourself and your kiddos (or fur babies) 🐕 are comfortable and engaged.

Bring essential (non-messy snacks) 🍿, a change of clothes and towel 🧦(for beach shoots), and their favourite ball, teddy etc if this helps 🧸!

✨Playful and authentic

I have worked with kids for most of my nursing career, and have 2 very wild babies, so I know how to 'break the ice' and work with kids to ensure everyone has a great experience, whilst coming away with some beautiful images. You can read more about my 'why' here. 🖼️

The structure of my shoots is fairly free, having a child-led focus to ensure the kids are engaged and captured during play and exploration. 🧸

I aim to create as much of an authentic image true to each persons personality as possible.

I love the access we have to beautiful beaches and parks around Melbourne, we are truly lucky, and I know a lot of people and families are connected to place!

I love to shoot in places with natural beauty, textures, colours and earthy backgrounds, as they make a truely stunning setting 🌊 🐚🌳

I aim to create truely beautiful and impactful images for you to take away and treasure. I want you to enjoy your whole experience, one of the only experiences where you can slow down and just celebrate yourself and your family. 🖼️🫶🏻

I take photos with the end image in mind. I love sharing digitals, but I truely love printed images and keepsakes, like albums, where you can physically hold and see the end results. I have a professional print shop attached to my website and the gallery where you photos will be share, and will chat through this process with you.
